You are invited to register for SC CCR&R’s Early Learning Saturday on January 20, 2024, hosted in Zoom Events.
We will be holding two sessions that will each be given twice. You can find these session descriptions below. From 9:00 am to 10:00 am, both sessions will be given, and you can choose which one you would like to join first. From 10:00 am to 10:15 am there will be a short break, and from 10:15 to 11:15 the sessions will then be given for a second time, and you can join the lobby of the session you did not take from 9:00 am to 10:00 am.
Nature in the Early Care and Education Environment, Darlene Faucette (SC CCR&R), 9:00 am to 10:00 am & 10:15 am to 11:15 am
In this session, teachers will connect nature play in the Early Care and Education (ECE) environment. This refers to the intentional integration of natural elements and outdoor/indoor experiences into the learning and play experiences of young children. This approach recognizes the importance of nature in promoting holistic development, fostering a connection to the environment, and enhancing overall well-being.
Playing and Teaching with Loose Parts, Elizabeth Cutaia (SC CCR&R), 9:00 am to 10:00 am & 10:15 am to 11:15 am
In this session, teachers will discover the excitement of loose parts play activities that give children the opportunity to express creativity by using materials that can be manipulated, transformed, and created through play activities. Teachers will learn how these activities connect to the SC Early Learning Standards and ABC Process Quality Guide.
