There is a great need for quality early childhood programs. Opening your own early childhood program is an excellent investment both for you and your community. The benefits are two-fold: you benefit by establishing a quality early childhood program and the families in your community benefit from the services of a high quality early childhood program. Opening an early childhood program takes money, time, and, most of all, organization and planning.
The first step to opening an early childhood program is contacting the regional Child Care Licensing office in your county to sign up for a licensing orientation session to receive information on vital regulations at www.scchildcare.org.
The South Carolina Child Care Resource & Referral Network can offer technical assistance to a new early childhood program. Available assistance includes business plan development, staffing patterns review, health & safety checklist, curriculum ideas, and many other aspects of operating an early childhood program.
Once you have established your program, you will want to make sure that you are included on our email list to receive updated information through the SC-CCRRN newsletter. If you haven’t already done so, please go to the home page and subscribe.
